Description

The members  of a Mutual Aid Group must:

  • Be unemployed individuals aged 15 to 64 living in conditions of poverty and social exclusion
  • Live  in the communal section but not at the same address nor in the same house
  • Not be husband and wife, brothers and/or sisters
  • Agree to provide 20 hours of work per week to their mutual aid group or to a local organization for carrying out common interest work in the communities where they reside
  • Commit to receive 10 hours of training every week
  • Choose the location  where the Mutual Aid Group members will gather in Mutual Aid School with their Mutual Aid Facilitator for weekly training
  • Agree to keep their children at school
  • Agree to keep actively looking for a job, and
  • Agree to live the fundamental values of solidarity, reciprocity, integrity and respect

The person who formed the group or the group facilitator must inform Reciprocitas immediately of any changes in the size of the mutual aid groups (e.g., leaving due to gainful employment, moving out of the communal chapter or to a remote location within the communal section, voluntary separation, dissolution of the group, any other reason that prevents the member's active participation, etc.).

In all cases of change in size, the group will have to register again. The person doing the registration will add the name(s) of the new member(s) and register the name(s) of the remaining member(s) so that the group can continue to receive the monthly participation incentive.

The number of Mutual Aid Groups which will be created depend on the amount of funding received from donations campaigns.
